Cancellation Charges of Air Tickets

How do I apply for a ticket refund?

You can submit a ticket for refund, which is either incompletely employed or completely unutilized, within one time after expiry of the validity of the ticket. With effect from 01st October 2018, the ticket/ s issued will be valid for Refund up to 15 months from the date of issue/ 3( Three) Months from the expiry of ticket validity. The refund would still be reused subject to the chow restrictions of the ticket. However, a cheque with the refund quantum is transferred to the address as specified by the passenger, If the payment has been done incash. However, also the quantum is credited back to the same credit card account, If the payment has been made by credit/ disbenefit card. The refund can not be reused to an alternate card account. The transfer to any other card account if needed would have to be requested by you to your card issuing bankonly. However, the quantum would be credited back to the same bank account that it was debited from, If the payment is made by direct disbenefit- bank transfer.

How long can I expect to wait for my refund to be processed?

In normal circumstances a refund is reused nearly immediately. However, in case of a credit card bank transfer, it takes a minimum of twenty days.

Do I cancel bookings made online on the Air India website?

Once you make your reservation online you can make use of the" My Booking" section to cancel your reservation for only completely unutilized tickets. The link to the" My Booking" section can be penetrated from the homepage of the AirIndia websitewww.airindia.in.

The cancellation request for bookings made online will be reused automatically through the Internet reserving Engine. Any refunds due will be reused by the system in agreement with the applicable cancellation rules.

The revision request for bookings made online will be reused automatically through the Internet reserving Machine. Any rebooking charges and difference in chow if any, will be collected through the system in agreement with the applicable chow rules for revision.

Please note, any ancillary services bought similar as Preferred Seat, redundant baggage, is not modified online. Passenger may communicate the call centre or nearest Air India reservingoffice. Do I qualify for a refund?

If I've been downgraded on my flight. Yes In case of involuntary downgrading, due to a change in aircraft, after completion of trip, you need to shoot the ticket jacket with the boarding cards to the Refunds section and as per the applicable chow rule a refund will be reused. In case of a downgrade and if you're transferred to any other airline the case is treated as a ‘ transportation credit ’ where a communication has to be transferred to the separate airline, our Central accounts and the IATA billing section, and only also is the refund reused. The ticket dupe and the boarding card also need to be transferred for this refund.


Am I entitled to a refund?

If a member of my family is taken ill and I no longer wish to travel due to this. Yes If a member of the family has taken ill and the ticket remainsun-utilized also the refund is reused as per the chow rules governing the chow.
